BIOGRAPHY
Nihal Azak received singing lessons from Camille van Lunen at the age of 8. In 2005 she took part in the youth opera “Der Felsenjunge” by C. van Lunen. Until 2018, the young soprano studied Bachelor of Music (Elementary Music) singing with Heike Susanne Daum at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Since October 2018 she has been studying Master of Music singing with Anja Paulus at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. In January 2020 Nihal Azak performed the role of the Queen of the Night from "Die Zauberflöte" by W.A. Mozart, as part of the opera project of the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. She also appeared in the university production "Le Nozze di Figaro" by W.A. Mozart in the role of Susanna. The latter was canceled due to Covid19. In September 2021 she made her debut in the role of Papagena from “Die Zauberflöte” at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. In April 2022 she sang one of the flower girls from “Parsifal” by R. Wagner at the Theater Koblenz.
She sang in the choir at the Cologne Opera in the productions "Les Troyens" (H. Berlioz) and "Carmen" (G. Bizet). She was also a member of the opera choir at the Musiktheater im Revier, where she took part in numerous opera, operetta, oratorio and musical projects over several seasons. Since January 2024 she sings in the 1st soprano in the opera choir of the Wuppertaler Bühnen.
